As one of the few Dutch sporting artists,Cary J.van Dansik specializes in equine bronze portraiture and bronze sculpture,At age of three , Van Dansik was already drawing Horses,Horses,and more Horses in a very special way,that was noticed by hisTeachers in school ,His Parents were informed of Van Dansik.s special talent,and it was suggested to give him a special education in that direction,But Van Dansik,s -Father,coming from an old butchers-tradition ,decided otherwise by providing his Son a solid and secure trade,no question about it!so be it, After several years of learning and hard labor .Van Dansik said"When my Father decided not to send me to the Academy of Art,at that time.I was very sad and angry,but at present,Im so grateful he didnt,the lessons I have learned,individually ,by analyzing and studying,one can not learn it at any Art-Academy! ,The Great and famous Englisch Painter -George Stubbs,was excellent example for me,George Stubbs used to take dead Horse into his Studio and studied its anatomy! I could understand why he did so,It has been very essential for me to learn the structures and the function of all the bones,muscles and what made the possible movements of this wonderfull Creature!
Being an autodidact van Dansik learned the hard way! He made it possible by discovering his own technics and inventing his own style,in addition other great classical Artist such as Rodin and Mene were of import influence,Since had started in the early eightys.van Dansik has produced over thirty bronze Horse editions from desksize sculptures to life-size statues.
